Rate Level: A Little Revenge - Version 3

A Little Revenge - Version 3

2 teams; Citadel

Aes vs Wc

Reviewed by: Walker Boh

General Geometry General Geometry Notes:
7 In general not horribly complex geometry as the map is a small simple map. Still well done overall, not up at the top of Polygons work but still much better than most people can accomplish.
Geometry Detail Geometry Detail Notes:
7 Nice work in the base courtyards, good attention to the supports in the cave areas in the midworld, most of the base work is boxy without looking overly so. The partitions between the portal and rest of base was well done, and some vaulting done to the ceilings.

Textures Texture Notes:
7 Nothing really interesting in the texture work, the Aes Sedai base probably done better then most of the rest of the map. The midworld seems rather bland as do the walls of the bases. Good alignment however done throughout.

Lighting Lighting Notes:
5 The lighting in the bases is far too bright, there are stairs which are completely black, the white walls coupled with the bright lights can lead to some uncomfortable areas to look at. The midworld is lit well, though nothing to really add any mood to the map.

Sound / Music Sound and Music Notes:
5 Some basic ambient sounds used at portal areas other than that seems a bit lacking. Some more work in adding sounds to the cave areas, and to things like the fireplace would help.

Angreal Assessment Angreal Notes:
6 The ta is a little shield heavy, but for the style of the map seems to work ok.

Playability - Scripting Play Scripting Notes:
10 Everything seems to work as intentended, player starts are well placed, portals work etc.
Playability - Theme Play Theme Notes:
4 The skyboxes are really well done, however the midworld seems rather bland. The whitecloak base has no real feel to it at all. The Aes Sedai base is a bit more involved.
Playability - Style Play Style Notes:
6 This is meant for a fast paced map and works as such. There are no real edits to select from, and in general games are fairly short. The midworld has 2 paths to choose from but is rather small and doesn't lead to any real interesting battles. The bases likewise, pretty straightforward game play as intented by the author.
Playability - Fun Fun Play Notes:
5 The map won't appeal to most experienced players, it is good to use for a little break from the same old levels and should probably be on servers. Though not likley to ever actually get voted up once up will likely be played through. Doesn't quite rise to the level of a quickwar in how fun it is to play for a fast map, but still not too bad.
